Gareth Brewster

Council Member

Gareth Brewster believes that the best learning doesn’t feel like school. It feels like tinkering with a broken radio, writing a line of code that finally works, or falling off a skateboard for the tenth time while chasing a move you just saw on YouTube. For him, real learning is messy. It’s driven by curiosity, risk, and play, not test scores.

He’s seen this in classrooms, network closets, and playgrounds. Spaces where educators take risks with new tools and approaches. When the culture is open and the technology is purposeful, people begin to level up, not because they’re told to, but because they want to.

As an educational technology consultant and strategist, Gareth helps schools align their digital infrastructure with authentic learning goals, empowering communities to embrace innovation with clarity and confidence.

He helped found the TRC to be part of a collaborative that values learning, systems, and culture in equal measure. For Gareth, systems matter, but culture changes everything.
